The Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully conducted Exercise Vayushakti-26 at Pokhran Field Firing Range, Jaisalmer, demonstrating its formidable combat readiness, operational synergy and technological prowess across full spectrum of air operations.
For the first time, Exercise Vayushakti was executed along a defined operational storyline, transforming into simulated live combat theatre. The exercise seamlessly integrated offensive air strikes, air defence operations. special forces missions and humanitarian assistance, highlighting IAF's role as a multi-domain, integrated force and nation's first responder.
The exercise commenced with National Song and National Anthem, accompanied by a ceremonial flypast of Chetak helicopters carrying National Flag, Air Force Ensign and Operation Sindoor Flag. This was followed by a precisely timed sonic boom by a Rafale fighter, setting the stage for high-intensity combat missions.
Guided by its core values of "Achook, Abhedya aur Sateek", Exercise Vayushakti-26 validated IAF's operational doctrine, joint integration and technological capabilities reaffirming its role as a key enabler of India's comprehensive national power and strategic deterrence.
During the historic visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Cooperation in the Field of Fisheries and Aquaculture between the Hon'ble Minister, Department of Aquaculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Israel, Mr. Avi Dichter, and the Hon'ble External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
The MoU aims to strengthen India’s fisheries and aquaculture sector through technology-driven and sustainable practices, while enhancing the Blue Economy and improving the livelihoods of coastal and fishing communities.

The Government of India has received Rs. 27,08,654 crore (79.5% of corresponding RE 2025-26 of Total Receipts) upto January, 2026 comprising Rs. 20,94,218 crore of Tax Revenue (Net to Centre),
Rs. 5,57,307 crore of Non-Tax Revenue and Rs. 57,129 crore of Non-Debt Capital Receipts. Rs. 11,39,767 crore has been transferred to State Governments as Devolution of Share of Taxes by Government of India during this period which is Rs. 65,588 crore higher than the previous year.
Total Expenditure incurred by Government of India is Rs. 36,90,061 crore (74.3% of corresponding RE 2025-26), out of which Rs. 28,47,780 crore is on Revenue Account and Rs. 8,42,281 crore is on Capital Account. Out of the Total Revenue Expenditure, Rs. 9,88,302 crore is on account of Interest Payments and Rs. 3,54,861 crore is on account of Major Subsidies.
The Union Government has released Rs. 275.1253 crores as Fifteenth Finance Commission (XV FC) grants during FY 2025–26 to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) / Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) in Jharkhand.
This release pertains to the 2nd installment of Untied Grants for FY 2024–25 and will benefit all eligible 24 District Panchayats (DPs), 253 Block Panchayats (BPs) and 4,342 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in the State.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has certified Denmark for the elimination of mother-to-child transmission (EMTCT) of HIV and syphilis, recognizing the country's sustained commitment to ensuring every child is born free of these infections.
The validation, based on an assessment by WHO's Regional Validation Committee in June 2025 and Global Validation Advisory Committee (GVAC) in August 2025, confirms that Denmark met all required targets from 2021 to 2024, including low transmission rates and high coverage of prenatal testing and treatment for pregnant women.
Denmark joins 22 other countries and territories validated by WHO for the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis or hepatitis B virus, or certified on the path to elimination, along with Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Belarus, Belize, Bermuda, Brazil, Botswana, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Jamaica, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat,
Namibia, Oman, Republic of Moldova, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sri Lanka, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Thailand.
Denmark has low rates of HIV and syphilis among pregnant women. About 5950 people are living with HIV, and less than 0.1% of pregnant women are affected. Routine testing and treatment have reduced mother-to-child transmission to zero.
The free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the EU has included an annexure for mediation for a mutually-agreed solution to a dispute through an expeditious procedure with the assistance of a mediator.
According to the text of FTA, an annexure on 'model mediation procedures' has been included in the agreement, the conclusion of which was announced on January 27 2026.
The pact is expected to be signed after legal scrubbing. It may be implemented next year.
These FTA texts may undergo further modifications as a result of the process of legal revision/ scrub. The texts will be final upon signing.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated February 27, 2026, imposed a monetary penalty of Rs. 11.50 lakh on Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited (the company) for non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Fair Practices Code’ and ‘Internal Ombudsman for Regulated Entities’.
