Today’s framework reaffirms the countries’ commitment to the broader U.S.-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) negotiations, launched by President Donald J. Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13, 2025, which will include additional market access commitments and support more resilient supply chains.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Posts on 07.01.2026 to operationalize a standardized, faceless, and fully traceable logistics mechanism for the transportation and quality control of samples of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.

The MoU aims to ensure secure, time-bound, and tamper-proof movement of samples from collection points to designated laboratories, with end-to-end digital tracking. This digital and logistics-enabled framework strengthens the agri-input quality control mechanism through end-to-end digitization of key processes,

including fixation of quality control targets at the State level, collection and dispatch of samples, laboratory analysis, generation of test reports, and initiation of prosecution, wherever required. Legal action, if any, is taken as per the respective acts under which the commodity is governed.

Government of India has signed Memorandum of understanding (MoU)/ agreements with 23 countries for sharing or cooperation on India Stack / Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), primarily for replication and adoption of India’s digital governance platforms.

These MoUs focus on cooperation in areas such as digital identity, digital payments, data exchange and service delivery platforms, aligned with India’s broader DPI diplomacy under the India Stack framework.

The Government of India launched a “National Tele Mental Health Programme” on 10th October, 2022, to further improve access to quality mental health counselling and care services in the country. As on 2nd February 2026, 36 States/ UTs have set up 53 Tele MANAS Cells.

Tele-MANAS services are available in 20 languages based on the languages opted by the States. More than 32.84 lakh calls have been handled on the helpline number since inception.
The Government has also launched Tele MANAS Mobile Application on the occasion of World Mental Health Day- October 10, 2024.

Tele-MANAS Mobile Application is a comprehensive mobile platform that has been developed to provide support for mental health issues ranging from well-being to mental disorders.
Tele-MANAS Mobile Application has been expanded to include 10 additional regional languages — Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, and Punjabi —

along with the previously available languages, English and Hindi.
Tele-MANAS Mobile Application also assists visually challenged persons by making its mental health services accessible through a specially designed, user-friendly digital interface and a toll-free phone line that does not require screen use.

The Union Government has released over ₹1,133 crores as Fifteenth Finance Commission (XV FC) grants during FY 2025–26 to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) / Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Telangana.
In Madhya Pradesh, an amount of ₹65,255 lakhs (₹652.55 crores) has been released as the second instalment of Untied Grants for FY 2024–25.

In Madhya Pradesh, an amount of ₹65,255 lakhs (₹652.55 crores) has been released as the second instalment of Untied Grants for FY 2024–25. The funds will benefit all 52 eligible District Panchayats, 312 eligible Block Panchayats and 23,001 eligible Gram Panchayats in the State.

Additionally, ₹77 lakhs representing the withheld portion of the first instalment of Untied Grants for FY 2024–25, has also been released to 3 additionally eligible Block Panchayats and 6 Gram Panchayats. For Punjab, the Union Government has released ₹22,200 lakhs (₹222 crores) as the first instalment of Untied Grants for FY 2025–26.

While for the State of Telangana, ₹25,602.95 lakhs (₹256.0295 crores) has been released as the first instalment of Untied Grants for FY 2024–25, benefiting 12,702 eligible Gram Panchayats. Further, ₹233.18 lakhs, being the withheld portion of the second instalment of Untied Grants for FY 2023–24,

has also been released to 11 additionally eligible Gram Panchayats and 40 Block Panchayats.
Government of India through Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Jal Shakti (Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation) recommends release of XV-FC grants to States for Rural Local Bodies, which is then released by Ministry of Finance.

In a landmark step towards strengthening maritime and coastal security, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has become the first port in India to initiate the implementation of an advanced Anti-Drone System, marking a significant milestone in the protection of critical port infrastructure.

The project involves the deployment of a comprehensive integrated Radio Frequency(RF) and radar-based drone detection and jamming system, specifically tailored for complex port environments, providing 360-degree coverage and Omnidirectional bearing.

The drone detector, drone detection radar, and man-pack jammer together form a comprehensive security system providing omnidirectional coverage with an effective range of up to 5 km. Designed for quick deployment, the system enhances security in sensitive operational areas and represents a significant advancement in indigenous electronic countermeasure capability.

The National Statistics Office under Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) launched the beta version of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for eSankhyiki portal - the national portal for official statistics. MCP is a technology that allows users to connect directly with datasets through their own AI tools and applications.

This launch is part of NSO's ongoing effort to make official statistics more accessible to citizens, researchers, and businesses. The beta version now includes seven data products including Periodic Labour Force Survey, Consumer Price Index, Annual Survey of Industries, Index of Industrial Production, National Account Statistics,

holesale Price Index and Environmental Statistics with more datasets to be added in the coming months.
The MCP server allows users to query datasets directly without downloading large files, integrate official statistics into their own analysis tools, automate reports using current statistics, and access multiple datasets through a single connection.

In a big boost to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), the RBI has doubled the limit of collateral-free loans from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh.
The central bank said the enhanced limits will apply to all loans to MSE borrowers sanctioned or renewed on or after April 1.

The RBI noted that doubling the collateral-free loan limit is intended to facilitate improved access to formal credit, support entrepreneurial activity, and strengthen last-mile credit delivery for MSEs with limited collateral.

According to the latest RBI data, the industry segment, comprising MSEs, medium enterprises and large enterprises) saw a year-on-year (y-o-y) growth of 13.3 per cent as on December 31, 2025, against 7.5 per cent as on December 27, 2024.

Within the industry segment, MSEs saw the highest yoy growth of 31 per cent, followed by medium enterprises (20.4 per cent) and large enterprises (7.5 per cent).

Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra proposed to issue three draft guidelines for customer protection: one, relating to mis-selling; two, regarding recovery of loans and engagement of recovery agents; and three, on limiting liability of customers in unauthorised electronic banking transactions.
