XAT Syllabus 2024 – Latest Changes
The Exam conducting body made some changes in the XAT syllabus 2024 and the candidates who are interested for apply for this exam must be aware of the new changes.
There are 3 parts:
- Part A: English and logical skills, decision-making, and math & data understanding.
- Part B: Practice using a computer keyboard.
- Part C: General knowledge questions and writing an essay.
Currently, there are no new updates for the XAT Syllabus 2024. It’s important to know that the Essay section came back in 2018, but they only check it if you get shortlisted for a Personal Interview. XLRI, the organization running the exam, doesn’t list the XAT Syllabus on its official website. XAT Syllabus 2024 – Essay

XAT Syllabus 2024 – Frequently Asked Question
Q1. What is the XAT Exam Pattern?
Ans. The XAT Exam Pattern includes a total of 101 questions, which cover multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and an Essay Writing Part. It’s divided into three parts: Part A (Decision making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability), Part B (Mock keyboard testing round), and Part C (GK and Essay Writing). Knowing the XAT Exam Pattern is crucial for candidates preparing for the test.
Q2. Is there Negative Marking in the XAT Exam?
Ans. Yes, XAT Negative Marking is different from other MBA Entrance Exams. Here’s how it works for XAT 2023:
Correct answer: +1 mark awarded.
Wrong answer in Part A: -0.25 marks deducted.
8 or more unattempted answers: -0.10 marks deducted.
No negative marking in Part B.
Marks in GK questions won’t be included in the final XAT Merit List.
Essay Writing marks are evaluated if you’re shortlisted for the interview.
