Sanjay Kumar Mishra appointed interim director of Enforcement Directorate

The Central Government has appointed Indian Revenue Service officer Sanjay Kumar Mishra as interim director of the Enforcement Directorate for three months. He replaced Karnal Singh. He is a 1986 batch IRS Officer of the Income Tax cadre.

Government to procure 44 lakh tonnes of oilseeds and pulses under the PM- AAASHA scheme

Food Corporation of India & NAFED will procure 44 L tonne of oilseeds & pulses under the scheme PM- AAASHA aimed at ensuring assured & better returns to farmers. For the procurement, the Cabinet has already sanctioned an additional guarantee of ₹ 15500 Cr.

US military successfully tests ballistic missile intercept system

US military shot down a medium-range ballistic missile in a test of a new interceptor system. It is co-developed with Japan & has been dogged by previous failures. The successful operation comes after two failed intercept tests, in June 2017 & Jan 2018.

IIT-Madras researchers design first indigenously-developed microprocessor

IIT-M researchers have designed India's first indigenously microprocessor under the project 'Shakti' that can be used in mobile computing devices. It will be helpful in reducing reliance on imported microprocessors in Communications & Defence Sectors.
