The Ministry of Steel has set up the India Steel Pavilion at Hall 1, Bharat Mandapam, as part of INNOPROM India 2026, the flagship Russian industrial exhibition in India, being held from 9-11 September 2026. The pavilion, themed “Forging Together - For Infinite Progress,” showcases the strength, growth story and achievements of the Indian steel sector.
It highlights India’s journey towards becoming a global steel powerhouse while presenting the history, current engagements and future opportunities for India-Russia collaboration in areas such as coking coal, nickel, speciality steel, R&D and advanced steel technologies.The pavilion features the participation of key CPSEs of the Ministry of Steel,

The centre is a joint project of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the Basmati Export Development Foundation (BEDF).The centre is designed to provide practical demonstrations and technical support to farmers and other stakeholders.
The proposed demonstration farm will cover notified Basmati varieties and technologies related to Basmati production, along with demonstrations on insect-pest and disease management, organic cultivation, organic inputs, Integrated Pest Management and Integrated Nutrient Management practices.
The centre is designed to provide practical demonstrations and technical support to farmers and other stakeholders. The proposed demonstration farm will cover notified Basmati varieties and technologies related to Basmati production, along with demonstrations on insect-pest and disease management, organic cultivation, organic inputs,

Canara Bank has reportedly committed more than Rs.50 crore towards compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), in what could become one of the banking sector’s significant investments in data privacy and protection infrastructure.
According to information highlighted in a recent post by privacy expert Vijayashankar Na on Naavi.org, Canara Bank has entered into a R52.19-crore contract with an IT solutions provider as part of its DPDPA compliance efforts. The bank has also reportedly engaged an AI platform developer under a six-month contract and
an audit firm for approximately Rs.82 lakh to provide resources related to DPDPA compliance. Based on Canara Bank’s estimated 7% share of the Indian banking sector, the article suggests that a similar level of spending across the industry could translate into an indicative investment of approximately Rs.860 crore in DPDPA compliance.
PhonePe and Visa unveiled a partnership to create one of India’s most comprehensive cardless payment experiences, spanning online purchases, in-store transactions and overseas travel. Announced at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai, the collaboration introduces Tap to Pay, Cross Border Scan to Pay and Smart Accept,
who can use their smartphones to accept card payments without investing in a separate Point-of-Sale (POS) machine.
The announcement builds on Visa Device Tokenisation, introduced on PhonePe in February 2025, and reflects a joint effort to simplify how consumers can use cards across payment environments. Instead of relying on a physical card,

The government has cleared eight railway multitracking projects involving an investment of over 20 thousand 800 crore rupees. The projects are aimed at increasing line capacity, improving operational efficiency and easing congestion on key routes.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting yesterday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, three projects, costing over 10 thousand 783 crore rupees, will cover 14 districts across West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, adding about 656 kilometres to the existing railway network.
