ATP Finals: Novak Djokovic clinches record-equaling 6th title, defeats Ruud in final

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic earned a record-equaling sixth ATP Finals singles title win, beating Norway’s Casper Ruud in the summit clash.

Djokovic defeated his opponent by 7-5, 6-3 to walk away with a historic payday of $4.7m. He has now equalled the record of Swiss legend Roger Federer, who has six ATP title wins.

Djokovic lifted his 91st tour-level trophy.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wins Kazakh presidential election with 81.3% of vote

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev secured a second term in election, winning 81.31% of the vote. Kazakhastan's Central Election Commission said the 69-year-old Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who came to power in 2019, received 81.31 per cent of the vote. None of the five other candidates scored double digits in the vote.

CRISIL revises India’s GDP forecast for FY23 down from 7.3% to 7%

CRISIL has revised its forecast for India’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth to 7 per cent for the current fiscal (2022-23) from 7.3 per cent estimated previously.

Consequently, CRISIL expects India’s GDP growth to slow to 6 per cent in fiscal 2024, down from the 6.5 per cent estimated previously. The risks to the forecast remain tilted downwards, as per the report.

India discontinues Air Suvidha form filling for international passengers

International travellers entering India will no longer be required to fill up the self-declaration form, called Air Suvidha, for COVID-19 related screening of passengers. Neither will passengers be required to submit a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report

These relaxations come into effect from November 22.

KVG Bank gets award for Atal Pension Yojana enrolment

Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) has bagged the national award from Pension Fund regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) for significant enrolment under Atal Pension Yojana (APY). So far, the bank has enrolled 3,34,687 (cumulative) accounts under APY. During 2022-23, the bank enrolled 69,132 accounts against the target of 50,320.

Federal Bank said that it has tied up with JCB India to finance the prospective buyers of heavy construction equipment and boost its loan portfolio. RBI allows HDFC Bank, Canara Bank to open vostro account for Rupee trade with Russia

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allowed HDFC Bank Ltd and Canara Bank Ltd to open a special "vostro account" for trade in Rupees with Russia.

Vostro accounts are accounts a bank holds on behalf of another, often foreign bank, and this forms a key part of correspondent banking.

National Payments Corporation of India in talks with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on volume cap deadline to 30%

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is in talks with the Reserve Bank on the implementation of its proposed December 31 deadline for limiting the volume cap of players to 30 per cent.

At present, there is no volume cap. So, two players -- Google Pay and PhonePe -- account for a market share of about 80 percent.
