Continuing his remarkable contribution towards the growth and development of chess over the last five decades, Mr. Bharat Singh Chauhan of India has been re-elected unanimously and unopposed as Chairman of the Commonwealth Chess Association (CCA) for the term 2026–2030.
The election process was conducted under the supervision of Hon’ble Santiago Pushpa Kumara Ekaratne, Retired Judge of the High Court, who served as the Returning Officer for the elections.
The First International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit was scheduled to be held in New Delhi on 1st June 2026. It was being organized in conjunction with the Fourth India–Africa Forum Summit (IAFS IV) as several African countries host big cats and are important partners in global efforts towards conservation, ecological sustainability and biodiversity protection.
Following the decision taken in consultation with the Chairperson of the African Union and the African Union Commission to convene the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit at a later date, it has been decided that, in order to ensure broad and active participation from all Range countries, including African countries, the First IBCA Summit too will be convened at a later date.
New dates for the Summit will be announced in due course following consultations with participating countries and stakeholders.

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), established by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), and Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under Ministry of Corporate Affairs, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance Corporate Governance, ESG and Capital Markets in the country.
The two institutions will jointly design and deliver capacity building programmes, certification courses, executive education modules, and training programmes including for SEBI officers and officials of other regulatory and financial sector institutions.
The collaboration has been envisaged by Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General & CEO, IICA, who has been instrumental in IICA's strategic initiatives across corporate governance, ESG, responsible business conduct, aligning them with national development agenda.
This MoU establishes a long-term strategic collaboration between the two institutions for strengthening knowledge exchange, capacity building, research, policy support, and institutional cooperation in areas like securities markets, sustainability and ESG reporting, Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR).
The Keralam government has created a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) portfolio for the first time at the cabinet level as part of a major reshuffle of ministerial responsibilities after the newly formed UDF government.
The move marks a notable shift in the state's governance structure, with the AI portfolio being placed under the Industries and Commerce department, along with Information Technology and other allied sectors.
As per the state Gazette order released on May 20, Veteran Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader PK Kunhalikutty has been assigned Industries and Commerce, Information Technology, and the newly created Artificial Intelligence department.
His portfolio also includes start-ups, mining and geology, handlooms and textiles.
Chandigarh, Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij launched the "ShramMitra" app, an initiative aimed at providing modern digital facilities to workers and employers across the state.
Vij said that the app is an advanced platform which will establish direct, transparent and quick communication between workers and employers.
The app will operate in three languages, Hindi, English and Punjabi, so that maximum workers and employers can easily avail its benefits.
The minister said that the "ShramMitra" app will work as an "Electronic Employment Exchange" for providing daily employment opportunities, and in the coming time, the traditional "labour chowk system" will gradually come to an end.
The "ShramMitra" mobile application has been developed by the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to provide modern digital facilities to workers and employers.
Vij said that the app has been specially designed to provide digital support to labourers who traditionally stand at labour chowks.

Secretary, Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Ministry of Rural Development, Shri Narendra Bhooshan held an introductory meeting with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by its Country Director, Ms. Mio Oka.
During the meeting, Shri Narendra Bhooshan highlighted the key initiatives being undertaken by the Department of Land Resources in the areas of land governance, land records modernization and watershed development in line with the Government’s vision of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Ms. Mio Oka briefed the Secretary about various initiatives and projects being supported by the Asian Development Bank across different sectors in India and its ongoing engagement with State Governments.
She highlighted ADB’s work in areas such as digital agriculture, climate resilience, watershed management and institutional capacity building, and expressed ADB’s keen interest in collaborating with the Department of Land Resources in areas of mutual interest.
The Secretary stated that the Department of Land Resources has been entrusted with the crucial responsibility of land records management and land administration in the country.
