IIM Mumbai – The IIM Mumbai has announced their new fees structure for the two year MBA course. In their Institutions Broad Inaugural meeting the institution approved Fees Rs. 21 Lakhs for three new MBA Programs. This is a significance to provide cost effective higher education option to the candidates who are interested in pursuing MBA. IIM Mumbai Direct Manoj Tiwari Said the reason behind this decision is to make institution more affordable to everyone. He added ” We looked at the other IIMs that were similarly ranked like us and we were clear that we did not want to hike our fees by Three-or-four-fold”.
IIM Mumbai Fees
IIM Mumbai was previously known as National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), an engineering institution. Which is now approved as an MBA awarding institution open for all. IIM Mumbai announced 21 lakhs fees for 2 years course.
The three new courses offered by IIM Mumbai consist of a 2-year Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), an MBA focusing on Operations and Supply Chain, and an MBA specialized in Sustainability Management. On the Board which held on Monday, the board decided that admission will be accepted through CAT(Common Admission Test) with Score of 55% weightage.
It’s important to note that their fees are lower compared to some other IIMs. For example, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Bangalore charge much higher fees, around Rs 31.5 lakh, Rs 31 lakh, and Rs 24.5 lakh, respectively. On the other hand, IIM Mumbai’s fee is Rs 21 lakh, making it a more affordable choice for students looking for a good MBA education. Some newer IIMs like IIM Sirmaur, IIM Sambalpur, and IIM Bodh Gaya offer even cheaper options, with fees ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh for their two-year MBA programs.
The board members stated atleast 36% of the campus population will be comprised of women ” we will give 5% additional seats to women candidates. Also, in the eligibility criteria, earlier only engineers can apply for the general MBA program and for the supply chain management course, engineers and students with background in math and computer application will also be permitted” Said Tiwari. Tiwari also said “with 1,260 hostel beds, we can currently accommodate 600-700 fulltime students”
