DRDO successfully test flights indigenous Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile

The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight tested indigenously developed low weight, fire and forget Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM). The man-portable missile is launched using a tripod designed for a maximum range of 2.5 km with a launch weight of less than 15 kg.

India Records Highest Ever Road Building Speed With 36.5 Km Per Day Of Highway Construction In 2020-21

India recorded the highest ever construction speed of National Highways in 2020-21 with a pace of 36.5 km per day.

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, said India has also created a world record by constructing a 2.5 km four-lane concrete road in just 24 hours and 26 km single lane Bitumen road in just 21 hours.

Mathru Kavacham: A Campaign By Kerala Government to Vaccinate Pregnant Women

Mathru Kavacham is a campaign to be launched by the Kerala government to vaccinate all pregnant women in Kerala against COVID-19.

As part of the campaign, all pregnant women will be registered for vaccination at the ward level by ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers.

The health workers will ensure that all pregnant women are registered and vaccinated.

Binaya Srikanta Pradhan appointed as new high commissioner of India to Tanzania

Shri Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, presently Deputy Chief of Mission in Embassy of India, Moscow has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the United Republic of Tanzania.

Pradhan joined Indian Foreign Service in 2002. As a diplomat, he served in senior positions in Indian Embassies in Moscow, Turkmenistan and Pakistan during 2004-12.

The Kuvempu Rashtriya Puraskar, the national award instituted in memory of late poet laureate Kuvempu, has been awarded to renowned Odia poet Dr Rajendra Kishore Panda for the year 2020. Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Trust instituted this national annual literary award in 2013 to recognise litterateurs who had contributed in any language that recognised by the Constitution of India.

Digital Banking On The Rise, Nearly 72% Of PSB Transactions Done Online: MoS Finance

The Ministry of Finance said that the share of financial transactions of Public Sector Banks (PSB) done through digital channels has now increased.

The Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad claimed that nearly 72% of financial transactions of PSBs are now done digitally.

The government has now taken a number of steps to facilitate digital banking.

Sandesh Jhingan named AIFF men’s Footballer of Year, Suresh Singh wins Emerging Player award
