NRAI Appoints Joydeep Karmakar As National Chief Rifle Coach

Joydeep Karmakar, a decade after he missed a bronze by a whisker at the 2012 London Olympics, is back with the Indian team as the chief national rifle coach till June 2025, a tenure that will include the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He was appointed by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).

Indian-origin Nand Mulchandani appointed 1st-ever chief tech officer of CIA

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the first line of defense for the United States, announced the appointment of Nand Mulchandani as its first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Before joining the intelligence agency, Mulchandani served as the CTO and acting director of the Joint Artificial Intelligence Centre under the US Department of Defence.

Govt panel recommends Sputnik Light vaccine as booster dose: Report

The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) has given its approval to the Sputnik Light Covid-19 vaccine to be administered as a precaution dose.

The NTAGI's Standing Technical Sub-Committee (STSC) discussed the issue and recommended that Sputnik Light, which has the same component of Sputnik V's first dose.

ISMC has announced its plan to set up India’s first semiconductor fabrication unit. The international semiconductor consortium will invest $3 billion in India's southern Karnataka state to set up a chip-making plant.

It comes after union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the Modi government expects to grant approvals to electronic chip makers in the next 6 to 8 months.

The Union Cabinet has approved the amalgamation of Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) along with its manpower, moveable assets and liabilities with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR and CDC are two separate autonomous bodies under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology.

Bihar CM inaugurates India’s first ethanol plant in Purnia

In Bihar country's first ethanol plant was inaugurated in Purnia district.

Ethanol production would help reduce the cost of petrol and generate fresh employment opportunities in the state.

The rupees 105 cr plant set up by a private investor is the first one developed since the Union government approved the Bihar government's ethanol production and promotion policy -2021.
