The Indian Navy commissioned its latest stealth-guided missile destroyer Imphal, at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. It is the first warship to have been named after a city from the Northeastern region, the approval for which was accorded by the President in April 2019. The ship was delivered by the Mazagon Dock Ltd to the Indian Navy on October 20, 2023.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released a draft 'Licensing Framework for Authorised Persons (APs)' under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999. The RBI had, in its June monetary policy meeting, said that the Central Bank decided to rationalise and simplify the licensing framework for APs to effectively meet the emerging requirements of the rapidly growing economy.

India’s current account deficit (CAD) narrowed sequentially to $8.3 billion, or 1 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP), in the quarter ended September (Q2FY24) due to lower merchandise trade deficit and growth in services exports. The CAD was $9.2 billion, or 1.1 per cent of GDP, in Q1 and $30.9 billion, or 3.8 per cent of GDP, in Q2FY23.

The Union government signed an agreement with Asian Development Bank (ADB) to avail of a USD 100 million loan to improve urban services and tourism facilities in the northeastern state of Tripura.
