National Security Guard launched the 3rd edition of week-long annual exercise- ‘Gandiv’

The National Security Guard (NSG), the federal contingency ‘Zero Error’ Force mandated to neutralise terrorism and hijacking threats in all its manifestations at the pan India level, has launched a weeklong exercise ‘Gandiv’ to validate planning parameters.

The exercise will cover potential targets in multiple cities of Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh, etc.

Mahindra Defence Systems bags ₹1,349.95 cr contract to manufacture IADS

Mahindra Defence Systems Limited (MDS) had bagged a contract worth ₹1,349.95 crore for manufacturing of Integrated Anti-Submarine Warfare Defence Suite (IADS) for modern warships of Indian Navy.

IADS is a high-end underwater equipment that uses latest technology. It is designed to detect and protect warships from underwater threats.

'Mera Kaam Mera Maan': Punjab To Launch Scheme To Help Unemployed Youth Enhance Skills

The Punjab Cabinet gave nod to a new scheme which will help the unemployed youth in the state to hone their skills and increase their chances of getting a job.

These youngsters will be given short-term skill training free of cost under the ''Mera Kaam Mera Maan'' scheme of the state government.

A target of 30,000 beneficiaries has been proposed, at a cost of ₹ 90 crore.

HSBC Asia appoints former SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar as director

Banking giant HSBC has appointed former SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar as a non-executive director for its Hong Kong-headquartered Asia unit. Kumar, who retired from the country's largest lender after four decades of service.

He was previously appointed as senior advisor by Baring Private Equity Asia and an advisor to Kotak Investment Advisors.

Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Shooter Avani Lekhara became the first Indian woman to win a Paralympics gold medal.

Shooter Avani Lekhara created sporting history after becoming the first Indian woman to win a Paralympics gold medal.

The 19-year-old won with an impressive score of 149.6 in the final event of women's 10m air rifle standing at Tokyo.

With this, Lekhara has set a new Paralympic record and has also equalled the world record.

Called "e-Source", the exchange platform that will serve as an online marketplace for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) & facilitate a formal supply chain between various stakeholder.

Odisha-born neurosurgeon Dr Basant Kumar Misra has been conferred the prestigious American Association of Neurological Surgeons’ ‘International Lifetime Achievement Award in Neurosurgery’.

Misra is the first Indian physician to receive the AANS honor which was conferred on him at a virtual ceremony during the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 held in Orlando, Florida.

Indo-Nepal Remittance Facility: RBI enhances transaction ceiling 4-fold to ₹2 lakh

RBI has made enhancements to the Indo-Nepal Remittance Facility Scheme, whereby the ceiling per transaction has been increased 4-fold to ₹2 L & the cap of 12 remittances in a year per remitter has been removed.Under the scheme, the beneficiary receives funds in Nepalese Rupees through credit to her / his bank account maintained with Nepal SBI Bank Ltd /agency arrangement.
