Chandigarh University inaugurated 'IndiaAI Data Lab' in collaboration with Intel India to improve the employability of students by equipping them with industry-relevant skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and emerging technologies.
As a dedicated space for students to learn foundational technical and career growth skills and build AI solutions, IndiaAI Data lab will provide students of computing and computer science engineering a simulated apprenticeship platform for getting practical skills, hands-on experience and opportunity to work on real-world projects.

The Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) programme, implemented by Rythu Sadhikara Samstha, has won the Food Planet Prize 2026, worth $1.5 million, for leading one of the world’s largest transitions to natural farming. The award was presented in Bastad, Sweden, on June 2, 2026.
The prize, given by the Curt Bergfors Foundation, recognises initiatives that could contribute to resilient, equitable and environmentally sustainable food systems within the next decade. The other finalists, Conscious Kitchen of the United States, NoPalm Ingredients of the Netherlands and the Savanna Institute of the United States, each received $150,000.
Launched in 2016 by the government of Andhra Pradesh, APCNF is one of the world’s largest community-led transitions to agroecology and natural farming. It is being implemented across 8,168 villages, and about 18 lakh farmer families are enrolled through women’s self-help groups (SHGs) and more than 10,000 farmer trainers.

The election was held to choose the President of the 81st session of the 193-member General Assembly, which will begin in September. In line with the UN’s regional rotation system, the presidency for the upcoming session was allocated to the Asia-Pacific Group.

With BharatPe Flex users can continue making payments across existing UPI ecosystems, including in-shop QR-code payments, online transactions, bill payments, recharges, travel, shopping, fuel and other daily spends, while accessing the flexibility of a credit line integrated into the UPI experience.
BharatPe Flex offers users the option to repay in full within the billing cycle or convert spends into flexible EMIs, depending on their repayment preference. Users can pay on UPI and settle dues within up to 45 days of interest-free period, while benefiting from a fully digital onboarding and activation journey with approvals within three minutes for eligible users.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved a landmark two-year scheme aimed at reducing air pollution in the Delhi–NCR region and promoting cleaner mobility.
The scheme will be funded through the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and implemented by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).
It will be implemented in collaboration with the participating States and Union Territories of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved a one-time budgetary support of up to Rs. 10,000 crore for Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to provide Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) price stabilization support to Scheduled Indian Airlines for their domestic and international operations.
Earlier, under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS), nearly ₹5,000 crore was earmarked for airlines, providing critical liquidity support. Today, the Cabinet has once again taken a far-reaching decision by approving Rs.10,000 crore of interest-free support to OMCs for ATF price stabilization.
The ATF price stabilization support mechanism will remain operational for a period of thirty-six months with provision for annual review or until the advance amount is fully recovered and settled, whichever is earlier.

The actor received one of the highest honours, not for his acting ability, but for his service to young people. On June 2, King Charles knighted the actor, activist and musician in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. Idris, 53, received the honour of knighthood for services to young people.
Along with Idris, figure skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean received a damehood and knighthood, actor/author Meera Syal received a damehood, entertainer Paul Elliot received the honour of MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire), and Betty Brown received an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).
