Irish author Paul Lynch’s “Prophet Song” was named the winner of the Booker Prize 2023, beating London-based Indian-origin author Chetna Maroo’s debut novel “Western Lane”, at a ceremony in London.
Lynch, 46, won for his novel presenting a dystopian vision of Ireland in the grips of totalitarianism, something the author describes as “an attempt at radical empathy”.

The Reserve Bank updated the 'Alert List' of unauthorised forex trading platforms by adding 19 more entities, including FX SmartBull, Just Markets, and GoDo FX taking the total to 75. The Alert List contains the names of entities, which are neither authorised to deal in forex under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA) nor to operate electronic trading Platform.
The Government announced compulsory blending of compressed biogas, which is extracted from municipal and agriculture waste, in natural gas to cut reliance on imports.
Initially, 1 percent of biogas will be blended in gas used in automobiles and household kitchens for cooking from April 2023
The share will be increased to around 5 percent by 2028.
