The International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR) is celebrated on 16 June each year.
The IDFR recognizes the crucial contribution of over 200 million migrant workers who send money to over 800 million family members in low- and middle-income countries.
Over the past 20 years, remittance flows have increased five-fold. Even during economic downturns, remittances continue to flow as they bind migrants to their families back home, helping them stay afloat. In 2023, remittances to low- and middle-income countries increased by almost 4 per cent to reach US$ 669 billion.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage (NIIMH), Hyderabad, a unit under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush as a WHO Collaborating Centre (CC) for 'Fundamental and Literary Research in Traditional Medicine' (CC IND-177).
This recognition is granted for a period of four years.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is held on June 15th and is an annual international UN observance day on the same date each year. The day came about as a result of UN resolution 66/127.
