Kerala Financial Corporation(KFC) becomes first government-run financial institution in Kerala to launch Debit cards

In a first for a government-run financial institution in the state, KFC will come out with a debit card for loan sanction & repayment. The customers will soon be issued a five-year RuPay Platinum cards, co-branded in association with public sector banks.

Mamata Banerjee launches ‘Maa’ scheme to provide meals at ₹5 to poor people

West Bengal government launched “Maa” canteens for providing subsidised cooked meals for the poor and the destitute at a nominal cost of ₹5. The govt will give a subsidy of ₹15 and people have to pay ₹5. The kitchen will run by Self-Help Groups (SHG).

Bank credit growth at 90% of FY20 level: RBI

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s data on Scheduled Banks’ Statement of Position in India Bank credit growth in FY21, as of January 29 reached about 90% of the year-ago level. Year-to-date (YTD) credit growth of all scheduled banks: ₹3,39,147 crore.

GDP to grow at 13.5% in FY22; economic activity on verge of normality': Nomura

Japanese brokerage Nomura said that economic activity is on the 'verge of normality' after a pandemic. It predicted that India GDP will grow at 13.5% in FY22. It expects real GDP to contract by 6.7 per cent in FY21. RBI projected growth of 10.5% for FY22.
