Railways to start theme-based Bharat Gaurav trains

The Indian Railways is in the process of finalising theme-based tourist circuit trains through private and state-owned service providers in a move to display the country’s rich cultural heritage.

To promote the first-of-its-kind theme-based trains, the railways have dedicated more than 3,000 AC and non-AC coaches of various categories to run around 190 tourist circuits.

20-Member Empowered Secretaries Group Set Up by Govt to Implement PM GatiShakti Master Plan

The government has constituted an Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS), headed by the Cabinet Secretary and comprising the heads of 19 ministries or departments, which will be a monitoring mechanism for the development and implementation of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP).

Civil society organisation Pratham awarded Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace for 2021

Pratham, a civil society organisation dedicated to improving the quality of education among underprivileged children in India and across the world, has been conferred the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament, and Development for 2021.

The international jury of the Indira Gandhi Prize was headed by the former Chief Justice of India, Justice T.S. Thakur.

El Salvador Plans World's First Bitcoin City

El Salvador plans to build the world's first "Bitcoin City", funded initially by bitcoin-backed bonds.

El Salvador plans to issue $1 billion in tokenised US-dollar denominated 10-year bonds to pay 6.5 per cent via the Liquid Network.

Half of the funds of the so-called “volcano bond” will be converted to Bitcoin and the other half will be used for infrastructure.

‘Boita Bandana’ festival celebrated in Odisha

Kartika Purnima (Boita Bandana) is celebrated on the full moon of the Kartika month where people across the State head for the nearest water body to set afloat tiny banana, paper, or thermocol boats with diyas, betel leaves, crackers, fruits and coins.

The festival is a mass commemoration of the state’s glorious maritime history when it was known as Kalinga.

Andhra Pradesh Named Best Marine State, Telangana Top Performer In Inland Fisheries

Telangana was adjudged best performer in inland fisheries, while Andhra Pradesh was named the best marine state in the country by the Centre.

CII will organize the 20th edition of ‘Connect 2021’ in Chennai

The 20th edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) flagship event ‘Connect 2021’ will be held here from November 26 to 27.

The objective of this program is to take the state’s GDP to US$ 1,000 billion by 2030.

CII Tamil Nadu President S Chandrakumar said Chief Minister MK Stalin would inaugurate the event on November 26.

World Bank to provide $250 million loan for school learning project in Andhra Pradesh

World Bank will provide $250 million loan for a school education project in Andhra Pradesh, which will cover over 50 lakh students in the southern state.

The project will cover about 40 lakh students (6-14 year age group) in over 45,000 government schools, and over 10 lakh children (3-6 years) enrolled in Anganwadis, and about 1,90,000 teachers.
