Maruti Suzuki names Hisashi Takeuchi as MD and CEO for next 3 years

Maruti Suzuki has appointed Hisashi Takeuchi as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from April 1, 2022

Takeuchi will succeed Kenichi Ayukawa - a whole-time director - who will be designated as Executive Vice-Chairman for a period of six months with effect from 1 st April, 2022 till 30th September, 2022. Ayukawa joined as MD, MSIL in 2013.

Stephen Wilhite, the inventor of GIF or Graphics Interchange Format, died on March 14, 2022, due to Covid complications. He passed away at the age of 74 at his home in Ohio, United States. Today, GIFs have become an integral part of communication on social media and networking sites.

First wildlife bond issued by World Bank to save Africa's black rhino

The World Bank has priced the world’s first wildlife bond, raising $150 million that will be partly used for the conservation of black rhinos in South Africa. The five-year bond will pay returns determined by the rate of growth in populations of the animals in two South African reserves, the Addo Elephant National Park and the Great Fish River Nature Reserve.

North Korea Launches Banned Intercontinental Ballistic Missile For First Time Since 2017

North Korea has tested a banned intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) for the first time since 2017. ICBMs, designed for nuclear arms delivery, could extend North Korea's strike range as far as the US mainland.

This missile appeared to be newer and more powerful than the one North Korea fired five years ago, reaching an altitude of more than 6,000km (3,730 miles)

Lt. Gen. Vinod G. Khandare appointed Adviser in Defence Ministry

Lt. Gen. Vinod G. Khandare (retd.) has been appointed as Adviser in the Ministry of Defence. He will work closely with the Defence Secretary.

Lt. Gen. Khandare superannuated from the Army end-January 2018. From then till October 2021, he served as the Military Adviser in the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) under the Prime Minister’s Office.
