Dinesh Kumar Shukla has been appointed as the chairperson of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) for a period of three years.
Shukla, who has been the executive director of the AERB, succeeds G Nageswara Rao to the top post.
The Atomic Energy Regulatory Board was constituted on 15 November 1983 by the President of India.

The fifth Scorpène submarine, Vagir of Project - 75 Kalvari Class submarines has been delivered to the Indian Navy by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai. Defence Ministry said, the submarine would shortly be commissioned into the Navy and enhance its capability. Project-75 includes the indigenous construction of six submarines of Scorpene design.

The Madhya Pradesh government has constituted a high-level task force, which will make recommendations about regulating online gambling &gaming in the state after examining the technical and legal aspects. This task force will be headed by the state chief secretary. It will examine various judicial precedents, legal situations&technical aspects related to online gambling.
The Indian Railways completed the construction of a tunnel on a 111-kilometre section of the Udhampur-Katra railway line in Kashmir. The ‘escape tunnel’, which is the longest of its kind in the country, is located at an elevation of 12.89 meters. The tunnel was constructed to allow emergency response teams to carry out rescue operations in case of an accident.
The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) has become the world's number one crop insurance scheme in terms of farmer applications enrolled, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar informed Parliament.
