SJVN bags 1st Prize in Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2023 by MoP

SJVN Limited has been conferred with 1st Prize in Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2023 by Ministry of Power. SJVN's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) NL Sharma received the prize from Ministry of Power's Secretary Pankaj Agarwal in a ceremony at New Delhi.

The PSUs are evaluated on number of parameters for the initiatives undertaken to create awareness for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Indian Oil inks LNG deals with UAE's Adnoc, France's TotalEnergies

India's top oil firm IOC has signed deals to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from UAE's Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Co Ltd and TotalEnergies of France on a long-term basis.

IOC signed a deal to import 1.2 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Adnoc-LNG for 14 years starting in 2026.

India shooter Prithviraj Tondaiman bags Bronze medal at ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Italy

In shooting, India shooter Prithviraj Tondaiman bagged the bronze medal in the men’s trap event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Lonato 2023 in Italy.

Britain’s Nathan Hales won the gold medal with 49 points while Qi Ying of the Republic of China bagged the silver medal with 48 points.

13.5 crore Indians escape Multidimensional Poverty in 5 years.

A record 13.5 crore people moved out of multidimensional poverty between 2015-16 and 2019-21 as per NITI Aayog’s Report ‘National Multidimensional Poverty Index: A Progress Review 2023’.

National MPI measures simultaneous deprivations across the three equally weighted dimensions of health, education, and standard of living that are represented by 12 SDG-aligned indicators.

Back €500 million in EU’s first phase funding for India green energy

European Investment Bank (EIB), the lending arm of the European Union, plans to invest about €1 billion in India’s renewable energy sector.

The investment will be made in renewable sectors involving green hydrogen and solar panels.
