Centre approves Rs 1 lakh crore oil & gas projects for North Eastern Region

The projects which include Rs 27,000 crore upstream project,Rs 30,000 crore for Numaligarh Refinery Limited,Rs.10,000 crore for Indradhanush gas Grid Limited etc will be completed by 2025.

The exploration acreage in the region will be doubled from the existing 30,000 square kilometres to 60,00 sq kms by 2025.

Defence ministry places order for 118 Arjun Mk-1A tanks worth ₹7,523 crore

The Mk-1A tanks will be manufactured at the Ordnance Factory Board’s(OFB) Heavy Vehicles Factory at Avadi, outside Chennai.

The Arjun Mk-1A is an upgraded version of the Arjun Mk-1 main battle tank (MBT) currently in army service.

DRDO's Chennai-based Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) has designed and developed the tank.

NHPC’s 510 MW Teesta-V Power Station Wins ‘Blue Planet Prize’ by International Hydropower Association(IHA)

The award for Teesta-V Power Station, located in the Himalayan State of Sikkim, was announced during the World Hydropower Congress, 2021.

The Blue Planet Prize of IHA has been awarded to hydropower projects that demonstrate excellence in sustainable development.

Uttarakhand to start ₹39 crore man-wildlife conflict mitigation project

Over 280 km-long fencing will be set in different parts of the state at a cost of over ₹ 18 crore. Also, 1,393 km elephant-proof trenches will be built areas in areas frequented by the pachyderms at a cost of ₹ 4.4 crore. Both fencing and trenches will act as barriers, preventing wildlife to sneak into residential areas.

Uttarakhand's Tehri Dam Achieves Full Capacity of 830 Metres For the First Time Ever

The Uttarakhand government permitted raising the Tehri reservoir level to EL 830 metres on August 25, 2021. Prior to this permission, dam authorities were not allowed to raise it to full level and full potential, as water and power were not getting fully utilised.

Tehri Dam is the 3rd highest among earth-fill dams and 10th highest among all dams.

SJVN bags 1,000 MW solar power project

State-run SJVN bagged 1,000 MW Grid connected Solar PV Power Project through Request for Proposal (RFP) floated by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).

The project is expected to generate 2,365 million units (MU) in the First year and the project cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 55062 MU.

The Medical Devices Parks to be developed under the scheme will provide common infrastructure facilities at one place thereby creating a robust ecosystem.

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said that the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu,Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh have been given "in-principle" approval under the scheme.
