GI tagged king chilli ‘Raja Mirchi’ of Nagaland exported to London for the first time

Geographical Indications (GI) products from the north-eastern region, a consignment of ‘Raja Mircha’ also referred as king chilli from Nagaland was exported to London for the first time. Naga king chilli has been considered as the world’s hottest chilli and is constantly on the top five in the list of the world's hottest chilies based on the Scoville Heat Units.

BIAL signs a deal with IBM to set up ‘Airport in a Box’ platform

Cabinet clears amendment of DICGC act, ensuring Rs 5 lakh for depositor in 90 days

The Union Cabinet approved amendment to the DICGC Act to provide account holders access to up to Rs 5 lakh funds within 90 days of a bank coming under moratorium to ensure timely support to depositors. Continuing efforts to foster ease of doing business as well as encourage startups ecosystem, the govt also approved amendments to the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) Act.

IIT Hyderabad developed the country's first Rapid Electronic Covid RNA test kit called COVIHOME

India’s first Rapid electronic Covid-19 RNA Test kit that allows self-testing at home called ‘COVIHOME’ has been developed by a research group at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. The Project Incharge, Govind Singh, said the kit has been validated by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology and can be used to check for Covid-19 trace at the comfort of home.

The Ministry of Defence approves Innovations for Defence Excellence ‘iDEX’ with a budget of Rs.498.80 Cr

The Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence has approved a central sector scheme viz. Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) with budgetary support of Rs. 498.80 crore for the next 5 years from 2021-22 to 2025-26. NASA’s Europa Clipper to fly on SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy

NASA’s Europa Clipper will start its journey to Jupiter’s icy moon aboard a Falcon Heavy rocket built by SpaceX. NASA will Pay SpaceX $178 million to launch the vehicle in October 2024.
