Nippo battery maker forays into renewable energy, to set up a new subsidiary with Apollo Hospitals

Indo-National Ltd (INL) will set up a new subsidiary ‘Nippo Green Energy Pvt Ltd’ as a joint venture with Apollo Hospitals Enterprises.

INL will hold 74 per cent of equity share capital while the remaining 26 per cent paid-up equity share capital will be held by Apollo Hospitals Enterprises.

Meanwhile, the company unveiled a new Nippo brand logo to celebrate 50 years.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran Conferred With France's Highest Civilian Award

Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran was conferred "Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur" (Knight of the Legion of Honour) by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.

N Chandrasekaran was felicitated with the highest French civilian award for his contribution in strengthening and building business between India and France.

Pramod Bhasin appointed chairman of Data Security Council of India

Genpact founder Pramod Bhasin has been appointed the new chairman of the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), effective April 1, 2023, the organisation announced Wednesday. Bhasin is currently also the chairman of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER).

He succeeds Rajendra S Pawar, the chairman and cofounder of NIIT Group.

Senior Advocate KV Viswanathan's Name Recommended By Collegium, In Line To Become 58th CJI

Senior advocate KV Viswanathan, whose name was recommended by the collegium for judgeship in the Supreme Court, will become the 58th Chief Justice of India in August 2030 for a period of over nine months if the Centre gives the nod.

If the recommendation goes through, Viswanthan will join the elite list of lawyers who went on to become the CJI after being directly elevated.

Union Cabinet Reshuffle: Arjun Meghwal New Law Minister, Kiren Rijiju Given Charge Of Earth Sciences Ministry

Arjun Ram Meghwal, who has been the minister of state for Culture, has been assigned the independent charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Law and Justice in addition to his existing portfolios, in place of Shri Kiren Rijiju, the President's Secretariat said in a statement.

IT hardware PLI 2.0: Centre approves revised PLI scheme with Rs 17,000 cr outlay

Cabinet nod for ₹1.08 lakh crore kharif fertilizer subsidy

The Union Cabinet decided not to increase fertiliser rates and approved a crop-nutrient subsidy of ₹1.08 lakh crore for the June-September kharif or summer-sown season. For 2023-24, the Union budget in February allocated ₹ 1.75 lakh crore, but even though fertilizer rates have stabilized, actual full-year spending could cross ₹ 2 lakh crore again.
