RBI appoints Ajay Kumar as new Executive Director

The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Ajay Kumar as Executive Director (ED) with effect from August 2021.

Prior to being promoted as ED, Kumar was heading the New Delhi Regional Office of the Bank as Regional Director.

He has served in foreign exchange, banking supervision, financial inclusion, currency management and other areas in the Reserve Bank.

Walmart-owned PhonePe has received in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as an Account Aggregator (AA).

Maldives signs largest-ever infrastructure project with AFCONS

The contract for the largest infrastructure project in Maldives was signed in Male.

The Greater Male Connectivity Project will consist of a 6.74 km-long bridge & causeway link between Male and islands of Villingli, Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi.

Indian construction giant AFCONS received the project.

The project got a grant of $100 million & a Line of Credit of $400 from India.
