India successfully tests long-range Supersonic Missile Assisted Torpedo off Balasore coasts

India successfully test fired a long-range Supersonic Missile Assisted Torpedo (SMART) off Balasore coast in Odisha.

The weapon system is being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the Indian Navy.

The system has been designed to enhance anti-submarine warfare capability far beyond the conventional range of the torpedo.

UNGA grants Observer Status to International Solar Alliance

The United Nations General Assembly has granted Observer Status to the International Solar Alliance (ISA), according to India's Permanent Ambassador to the UN, T S Tirumurti.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: NGT gives go-ahead, forms 12 member panel

The National Green Tribunal allowed the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor Expressway and formed a 12 member committee to ensure no damage is caused to the environment by unscientific muck dumping or obstruction of animal corridors on the Ganeshpur-Dehradun Road (NH-72A) stretch.

NGT directed the NHAI to deposit ₹1 crore in a separate account for research of Sal regeneration.

IIT Roorkee signed an MOU with Inland Waterway Authority of India (IWAI), Noida for stabilization of the navigational channel at 17 locations along a stretch of the Ganga river from Varanasi to Sahibganj, NW-1.
