Tapan Deka appointed new IB director, RAW chief Samant Goel gets one-year extension

The Central government gave one-year extension in service to Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief Samant Goel and appointed senior IPS officer Tapan Deka as Director of Intelligence Bureau.

Deka will succeed incumbent Intelligence Bureau Director Arvind Kumar, whose tenure ends on June 30.

Parameswaran Iyer appointed NITI Aayog's new CEO

The government has appointed Parameswaran Iyer as the new chief executive officer of the NITI Aayog after the term of the incumbent CEO Amitabh Kant comes to an end on June 30.

In 2016, Iyer was appointed by the government to head the drinking and sanitation department and lead the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Kant was appointed as the CEO of the NITI Aayog on February 17, 2016.

Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is working to activate e-commerce in the agriculture domain in partnership with NABARD. ONDC and NABARD have come together to host the NABARD-ONDC Grand Challenge (hackathon) which aims to establish market linkages for the enabled players with market ready Farmers Producers Organisations (FPOs) in the country.

During the Conference, Amit Shah said that transactions through Unified Payment Interface (UPI) have crossed one trillion US dollar mark in financial year 2022 and today India is first in global digital transactions. BIS formulates performance standards for Electric Vehicle Batteries

Bureau of Indian Standard, National Standard Body of India, has published standards for Test Specifications for Lithium-ion Traction Battery Packs and Systems (Performance Testing) for Electrically Propelled Road Vehicles. The standard IS 17855: 2022 for these battery packs and systems is harmonized with ISO 12405-4: 2018.

Anil Khanna appointed the acting President of IOA

The Delhi High Court ordered that Narinder Dhruv Batra cannot continue as the President of the IOA and appointed Anil Khanna as acting president.

Batra's removal means that his membership of International Olympic Committee will also come to an end as the coveted position was linked to his IOA presidency.

ISRO's PSLV-C53 to launch 3 Singapore satellites on June 30

ISRO said it will be launching - the second dedicated commercial mission of its commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) - 'PSLV-C53' carrying three satellites from Singapore on June 30.

The launch vehicle carrying DS-EO satellite along with two other co-passenger satellites is scheduled to lift off from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota

RBI spent more to print ₹20, ₹50, ₹100, ₹200 notes in FY22

Selling price of bank notes in the denomination of ₹20, ₹50, ₹100 and ₹200 rose in FY22. However, for notes in the denomination of ₹500, the prices have remained unchanged. Although notes of ₹500 denomination are the highest in terms of volume (34.9%) among all the paper notes in circulation, and also in terms of value (73.3%) their selling price has not seen any change.

DoT introduces design-linked incentive scheme, extends telecom PLI by 1 yr

The Department of Telecom has launched an incentive scheme for design-led manufacturers and extended the duration of the Rs 12,195 crore production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme by a year. The incentive for design-led manufacturing is part of the PLI scheme.

PFRDA pension scheme subscribers up 24% to 53.2 million by May end

Subscribers under the two flagship pension schemes administered by PFRDA rose by over 24 per cent from a year ago to 5.32 crore as of May 31, 2022. The number of subscribers in various schemes under the National Pension System (NPS) rose to 531.73 lakh by the end-May 2022 from 428.56 lakh in May 2021. APY registered a growth of 31.6 per cent to 3.72 crore by end of May'22.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the Seismology Observatory in Dandayal area Udhampur district.

The third such Centre in J&K has been set up by the Ministry of Earth Sciences at a cost of 20 lakh rupees. A complete seismic record of Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and many other districts will be prepared at the observatory.
