Private sector lender Karur Vysya Bank said the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of former RBI executive Meena Hemchandra as part-time chairman of the bank for three years.

The Govt. of Bangladesh has decided to appoint Md. Mustafizur Rahman, as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India. Retail inflation, based on the consumer price index (CPI), eased to 7.01 percent in June this year compared to 7.04 percent in preceding month. Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation said, inflation eased marginally mainly due to easing prices in "Food & Beverages" section.

Noted social worker and Padma Shri awardee Avdhash Kaushal died at a private hospital following a prolonged illness. He was 87. Kaushal who founded an NGO named Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra fought for human rights and the conservation of the environment. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved Taranga Hill-Ambaji-Abu Road new rail line to provide connectivity and improve mobility. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 2798.16 crores and will be completed by 2026-27.The total length of the new rail line will be 116.65 km and will be constructed by the Ministry of Railways.
Ola Electric unveiled the country's first indigenously developed lithium ion cell. Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended former Union Bank of India managing director Rajkiran Rai G as the head of the newly set-up Rs 20,000-crore National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID).
