Vida V1, first-ever Hero MotoCorp EV scooter, launched in India

Hero MotoCorp has taken the wraps off their new electric scooter under the sub-brand, Vida. The automaker launched the V1 as the first electric scooter of the brand, as it looks to catch up with newer firms who have taken the lead in the country's clean mobility push.

The Hero Vida V1 would be first launched in New Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore.

DPIIT notifies establishment of Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS)

Under CGSS, DPIIT aims at providing credit guarantees to loans extended by Scheduled Commercial Banks, NBFCs and SEBI registered Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).

The exposure to individual cases would be capped at Rs. 10 crore per case or the actual outstanding credit amount, whichever is less. The guarantee under scheme would be transaction based and umbrella based.

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has constituted a Cheetah Task Force

The Taskforce was constituted for monitoring Cheetah introduction in Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh and other suitable designated areas.

The Task Force shall be in-force for a period of two years.

Task Force to review progress and monitor the adaption and health status of Cheetahs.

Indian Air Force Day 2022 | 8th October

The Indian Air Force was officially established on October 8, 1932, as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire which honoured India's aviation service during World War II with the prefix Royal. Its first aircraft came into being on April 1, 1933 with six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (air soldiers).

LIC and Central Govt to divest 60.72% stake in IDBI Bank

LIC and Central Govt own close to 94% in IDBI Bank, of which the Centre has 45.48% stake and LIC has 49.24%, as of June 30. As per the plan, the Centre will divest a 30.48% stake while LIC will sell off 30.24%.

This would be the first attempt to privatise a public sector bank in India.

CCEA agreed to its strategic disinvestment and transfer management control in May 2021.

Three-member panel to study on SC status for Dalit converts

The Centre has appointed a three-member commission, headed by former Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan, to consider the possibility of granting SC status to “new persons who have historically belonged to the Scheduled Castes’’ but have converted to religions other than Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.

NTPC and GE Gas Power ink MoU to decarbonize power generation

In its efforts to adopt advanced powering technology to decarbonize power generation in India, NTPC Ltd., the country’s largest power generating utility, and GE Gas Power signed a MoU for feasibility to demonstrate of hydrogen co-firing blended with natural gas in GE’s 9E gas turbines installed at NTPC’s Kawas combined-cycle gas power plant in Gujarat.

SEBI Clarifies Guidelines Regarding Instruction Slip for Shares Pledging

To curb clients’ abuse of the stockbroker’s Power of Attorney (PoA), SEBI expanded the scope of the Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI) for pledges and repeals of securities for margin purposes.

MF transactions executed on stock exchange order entry platforms and tenders for the public offering of shares through SE platforms would also be covered under DDPI.

HDFC Bank launches SmartHub Vyapar Merchant app for SMEs

HDFC Bank announced the launch of SmartHub Vyapar Merchant app, a payments and banking solution for small and medium-sized businesses.

The app has been developed in partnership with a merchant Saas platform, Mintoak Innovations India.

It enables merchants to accept interoperable payments across multiple payment modes which include Cards, UPI and QR code.

ICICI Bank launches Smart Wire for inward remittances

ICICI Bank has launched an online service to assist its customers in making SWIFT-based inward remittances more quickly and easily. The feature, known as "Smart Wire," enables inward remittance transactions to be completed electronically for both NRIs and resident customers. Customers can use the "Smart Wire" service by logging into the internet banking platform.
