Health Ministry appoints first woman Paralympic medalist Deepa Malik as Ni-kshay Mitra ambassador

The MoHFW appointed Padma Shri, Khel Ratna Arjuna Awardee Deepa Malik as Nikshay Mitra ambassador, an initiative under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

The 'Ni-Kshay Mitra' initiative was launched by President Droupadi Murmu which strives to provide aid to tuberculosis-afflicted patients on three levels --nutritional, additional diagnostic, and vocational support.

Sangeet Natak Akademi announces winners for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021

The Akademi announced 128 winners of the Akademi Puraskar and 10 eminent personalities in the field of performing arts as Akademi Fellows.

It announced the names of 86 artists who have won the one-time Sangeet Natak Akademi Amrit Award under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM).

It also announced the names of 102 artists for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.

L&T To Construct Executive Enclave Housing New PMO, Cabinet Secretariat

Larsen and Toubro Ltd. will construct the Executive Enclave housing the Prime Minister's Office, cabinet secretariat, India House and the National Security Council Secretariat at a cost of Rs 1,189 crore.

Executive Enclave will be constructed under the ambitious Central Vista redevelopment project.

L&T and the company will have to complete the construction within 24 months.

Third Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance(AMR) at Muscat, Oman.

The World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2022 concluded on November 25, with the Muscat Ministerial Manifesto on AMR being agreed upon at the Third Global High-level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance.

The 2-day conference which began in the Omani capital of Muscat November 24, follows two earlier high level conferences held in the Netherlands in 2014 & 2019

Jio rolls out 5G services in all Gujarat districts

Jio announced it has rolled out its True 5G network in every headquarters of Gujarat's 33 districts, thereby making the western state the first state in India to get 100% coverage of 5G services in the state.

As a model state, Jio said it would launch a series of True 5G-powered initiatives in Gujarat and then extend it across the country.

The Supreme Court launched its online portal through which citizens can file applications under the Right to Information Act for matters related to the court.

The portal can be used only by Indian citizens to file applications, first appeals and to make payment for fees under the Right to Information Act.

Telangana scores a double win at Unesco heritage conservation awards

The list of the 2022 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation announced at Bangkok included the Stepwells in the Qutb Shahi Tomb complex at Golconda, which were selected for the Award of Distinction, while the Domakonda Fort in Kamareddy was selected for the Award of Merit.

Yak, a multi-purpose bovine, has been designated as a food animal by the FSSAI following the proposal of the Dirang (Arunachal Pradesh) based National Research Centre on Yak (NRC-Y)

Yak is found throughout the Himalayan region: Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, North Bengal, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh & Jammu and Kashmir,while wild Yak is found in Tibet.

Madras Boat Club women lift Adyar trophy

The Madras Boat Club women lift Adyar trophy at the 81st Annual Madras-Colombo Rowing Regatta at Colombo. The hundred-year-plus-old event was held after a three-year gap owing to the pandemic. The first-ever Madras-Colombo Regatta was held way back in 1898 and is considered to be the second oldest sporting event next only to Oxford - Cambridge Regatta.
