Prasanna Kumar Motupalli appointed CMD of NLC India Ltd

Prasanna Kumar Motupalli has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the state-run NLC India Ltd (NLCIL), a Personnel Ministry order said.

NLC India Limited is a central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal.

RBI allows six entities to test fintech products to deal with financial frauds under sandbox scheme

The six entities are -- Bahwan Cybertek, Crediwatch Information Analytics, enStage Software (Wibmo), HSBC in collaboration with Wibmo, napID Cybersec and Trusting Social.

The regulatory sandbox allows the regulator, innovators, financial service providers and customers to conduct field tests to collect evidence on the benefits and risks of new financial products.

Govt approves Rs 12,882 crore for continuation of development schemes in northeast

The Centre has approved the continuation of schemes of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) with an outlay of Rs 12,882 crore for the balance period of the 15th Finance Commission (2022-23 to 2025-26).

According to an official statement, the actual expenditure in the last four years under the DoNER schemes was Rs 7,534.46 crore.

Sebi issues debt broker license to Zerodha-backed GoldenPi Technologies

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has issued a debt broker license to Bengaluru-based fintech firm GoldenPi Technologies. With the development, GoldenPi became the first online bond platform provider to receive a debt brokerage license from Sebi. Incorporated in 2017, the Zerodha-backed company currently offers more than 100+ bonds and debentures for daily listing.

SBI MF gets RBI's nod to buy 10% stake in Equitas Small Finance Bank

The Reserve Bank of India gave its approval to SBI Funds Management Ltd to acquire up to 9.99% stake in Equitas Small Finance Bank through the schemes of SBI Mutual Fund. Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund and DSP Mutual Fund have also received RBI's approval to buy 9.99% stake each in the bank.

ADB, India sign $300 million loan to improve connectivity in Assam

The Asian Development Bank and the Government of India signed a $300 million loan to upgrade over 300 kilometres of state highways and major district roads in Assam. The roads to be upgraded under the project, including six road sections in the state’s western, central and southern regions, are connected to SASEC corridors linking India with Bhutan and Bangladesh.
