ISpA partners IIT Madras, US Consulate to drive space ecosystem development in Indo-Pacific

Indian Space Association (ISpA) has partnered with IIT Madras and US Consulate General Chennai and announced the formation of a working group of associations of various nations called Association of Space Entrepreneurs in the Indo Pacific (ASEIP) which will later transcend to Association of associations.

Meghalaya to host G20 nations’ meet on space in April, governor BD Mishra

Meghalaya Governor BD Mishra said the state will be hosting a meeting of the G20 nations to discuss how space partnerships can contribute to the economy of the countries.

As part of the G20 programme, Shillong will be hosting the Space-20 program on April 17-18.

The G20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed and developing economies.

Greenko named title sponsor for maiden Hyderabad E-Prix

Formula E and Ace Nxt Gen, the promoter of the first ABB FIA Formula E World Championship race in India, announced that Greenko will be the title partner of the 2023 Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix.

India crowned first-ever ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World champions

The Indian women’s Cricket Team created history as they won the first ever Under 19 World Cup defeating England in a one-sided final played at Senews Park, Potchefstroom (in South Africa).

Indian captain Shafali Verma won the toss and decided to field first.

England captain and stellar all-rounder Grace Scrivens has been named Player of the Tournament.

Germany beat Belgium 5-4 in penalty shootout to win FIH Men's Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar

In the FIH Hockey World Cup, Germany have lifted the World Cup after 17 years beating Belgium 5-4 in a penalty shootout, after the game ended 3-3 in the final at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Germany now have won the World Cup three times, first in 2002 and second in 2006. Pakistan, the most successful team at the hockey World Cup, have won the title four times.

Odisha Minister Naba Kishore Das Dies of Bullet Injury

Odisha's Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, passed away from bullet injuries. The state health minister was shot and grievously injured when he got out of his car. He won his first state election from Jharsuguda in 2009 on a Congress ticket and was re-elected from Jharsuguda in 2014. Five years later, he joined the BJD.

UNESCO Adds Odesa to List of World Heritage in Danger

The United Nations’ cultural agency, UNESCO, had designated the historic centre of Odesa, a strategic port city on Ukraine’s Black Sea coast, a World Heritage in Danger site. Odesa has been bombed several times by Russia since its invasion of Ukraine. In July 2022, part of the large glass roof and windows of Odesa’s Museum of Fine Arts, inaugurated in 1899 was destroyed.
