IPS officer Ravi Sinha appointed new Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief

Senior IPS officer Ravi Sinha was appointed as the chief of the country's external spy agency RAW, succeeding Samant Kumar Goel who will complete his four-year tenure on June 30, an official order said.

Sinha's predecessor Goel was appointed RAW chief for two years in June 2019. He was later given two extensions of one year each in 2021 and June 2022.

Credit Card NPAs Rose 25% To Over Rs 3,800 Crore in Nine Months of FY23: RBI Data

In the first nine months of FY23, bad or non-performing assets (NPAs) in banks’ credit card segment jumped by Rs 765 crore, or 24.5%, to Rs 3,887 crore.

The risk weight for consumer credit, including personal loans, is 100%. For credit card receivables, it is 125%.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, 46% people borrowed money to run their households.

This transaction will infuse primary proceeds of about ₹2,000 crore into the company.
