Sumit Nagal lifts Chennai Open ATP Challenger trophy beating Luca Nardi of Italy in men's singles final

In the Tennis Chennai Open ATP Challenger finale, India's top-ranked Sumit Nagal emerged victorious and won his 5th Challenger Title. He defeated Luca Nardi of Italy in the clash by 6-1 and 6-4. With this, he enters the Top 100 in next week’s ATP Rankings. The second-seeded Nagal will be the first Indian man since Prajnesh Gunneswaran in 2019 to breach the top-100 barrier.

Australia lifts Under-19 Men's World Cup beating India by runs in final in South Africa

Australia have won the Under 19 Men's ODI World Cup beating India by 79 runs in the final at Benoni in South Africa. Chasing a target of 254 runs, team India was all out for 174 runs in 43.5 overs. Earlier, Australia had scored 253 for 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

RBI increases ceiling on fees payable to non-executive directors of banks to Rs 30 lakh per year

The RBI has increased the ceiling on fees payable to non-executive directors of banks to 30 lakh rupees per year from the existing level of 20 Lakh rupees. The revision comes two years after RBI came out with new guidelines for directors as a part of corporate governance, where it capped the remuneration for non-executive directors, excluding the chair of the board.

RBI increases ceiling on fees payable to non-executive directors of banks to Rs 30 lakh per year

RBI said the banks are required to have suitable criteria for granting fixed remuneration to its NEDs, with the approval of their boards.

The instructions on review of fixed remuneration granted to NEDs would be applicable to all the private sector banks including small finance banks (SFBs) and payment banks (PBs) as also the wholly owned subsidiaries of foreign banks.

India launches UPI payment services in Sri Lanka, Mauritius

India's Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services were rolled out in Sri Lanka and Mauritius on 12 February during a virtual ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the top leadership of the two island nations. In Sri Lanka, the interface will be linked to LankaQR. RuPay cards were also introduced in Mauritius.

India launches UPI payment services in Sri Lanka, Mauritius

The extension of RuPay services will also enable Mauritian banks to issue RuPay cards and use them for settlements in both India and Mauritius. The UPI is a mobile-based payment system in India that allows round-the-clock payments via a virtual payment address. It powers multiple bank accounts into a single app and brings several banking features under one hood.

The Central Board Trustees (CBT) EPF recommends 8.25 % rate of interest to EPF subscribers for FY2023-24

Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has recommended 8.25 per cent interest rate for fiscal year 2023-24. Once approved this will be highest in three years.
