BSE receives SEBI's final approval to launch EGR on its platform

BSE has received the final approval from the capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for introducing the Electronic Gold Receipt (EGR) on its platform.

India is the second largest consumer of gold globally with an annual gold demand of approximately 800-900 tonnes and holds an important position in the global markets.

HAL’s rocket engine manufacturing facility inaugurated in Karnataka

An Integrated Cryogenic Engine Manufacturing Facility (ICMF) set up by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited that would cater to the entire rocket engine production under one roof for Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu.

On that occasion, the President also laid the foundation stone for the Zonal Institute of Virology (South Zone).

NASA’s DART Mission Hits Asteroid in First-Ever Planetary Defense Test

NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART)- the world's first planetary defense technology demonstration- successfully impacted its asteroid target, the agency's first attempt to move an asteroid in space.

DART targeted the asteroid moonlet Dimorphos, a small body just 530 feet (160 meters) in diameter. It orbits a larger, 2,560-foot (780-meter) asteroid called Didymos.

DRDO conducts successful tests of Very-Short Range Air Defence System missiles

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out two successful test flights of the Very-Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missile.

The missiles were test-fired from a ground-based portable launcher. The tests were carried out from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, located off the coast of Odisha.

UP govt gives nod to Bundelkhand’s first tiger reserve

In a bid to promote tiger conservation in the state, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet gave a green signal for the development of the first tiger reserve in the Bundelkhand region.

In a meeting chaired by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the cabinet approved to notify Ranipur Tiger Reserve under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Aarogya Setu, CoWIN to be used for health issues other than Covid as well

Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, the Centre is repurposing Aarogya Setu and CoWIN.

Aarogya Setu was launched for handling COVID-19 in a more systematic way. It has been updated to function as a health and wellness app. After being extensively used to facilitate COVID-19 immunisation, CoWIN will be utilised for India's universal immunisation programme.

Uco, Yes Bank tie up with Russian banks for payments

Uco Bank and Yes Bank have put in place arrangements with two Russian counterparts as India seeks to step up trade with the sanctioned nation.

Debt marketplace Yubi partners with SBI to enable co-lending to priority sectors

Corporate debt solution company Yubi announced a partnership with the country’s largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) for the latter to integrate with its co-lending marketplace Yubi Co.Lend for credit to the priority sectors including small businesses.
