SIDBI launches 'Sumpoorn' MSME Economic Activity Index with Jocata

Jocata, a digital lending transformation platform, has collaborated with SIDBI to launch a one-of-its kind MSME Economic Activity Index Sumpoorn.

This MSME specific high-frequency indicator will capture the state of India's growth engine, its MSMEs, that contribute more than a quarter of the country's overall Gross Value Added(GVA) and more than 40% of its total exports.

Govt’s DAY-NRLM signs MoU with SIDBI to help women SHG members turn entrepreneurs

Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) under the Ministry of Rural Development has signed a MoU with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to promote women-led enterprises among members of Self Help Groups (SHGs). MoU will cater to the formation of partnerships with financial institutions and a network of financiers.

Govt allows GENCOs seeking coal linkage without PPA to sell power on exchange

Through an amendment in the SHAKTI policy, Ministry of Coal has now allowed power generating companies(GENCOs),including private ones, to sell power on any segment of the power exchanges.

Under Para B(viii)(a) of SHAKTI policy, power plants, including private GENCOs, without a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)could seek coal linkages for a minimum of 3 months and up to a year.

Over 15 products from Uttarakhand have been given the coveted GI tag by the Geographical Indications Registry.

Some of them are: Berinag tea, Bichhu buti fabrics(made from Himalayan nettle fibres),madua(a finger millet), jhangora(a home grown millet), Gahat(pulse know for medicinal uses), lal chawal(red rice), kala bhat(black soybean), buransh juice, chaulai(ramdana) etc.

Picasso painting sells for €130 million and breaks 2023 art auction record

Spanish artist Pablo Picasso's 1932 painting 'Femme à la montre' ('Woman with a watch') sold for over $139 million (€130 million)at a Sotheby's auction in New York.

The record sale for 2023 makes 'Femme à la montre' the second most-expensive Picasso painting to sell at auction. In 2015, the 1955 oil painting 'Les femmes d'Alger'(Women of Algiers) sold for $179.4 million.

Air India has entered into an intermodal interline pact with WorldTicket that will offer its customers air-rail connections at 5,600 train stations in Germany with Deutsche Bahn on a single ticket.

WorldTicket is the exclusive distributor for Europe's largest railway operator, Deutsche Bahn.
