NITI Aayog will launch the second edition of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index and Dashboard 2019–20 on 30 December 2019. It was the first tool developed by any large country to monitor progress towards achieving SDGs at sub-national level.
The first edition of SDG Index was launched in December 2018.

Modi named Rohtang passageway in Himachal Pradesh as Atal Tunnel to mark the 95th birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Strategic Atal tunnel will help in promoting tourism in the region & provide all weather connectivity to remote areas.
Vajpayee took the historic decision of constructing the tunnel.

Renowned Hindi author Ganga Prasad Vimal was killed in a road accident in Sri Lanka. Born in 1939 in Uttarkashi, Vimal wrote more than a dozen poetry collections, short story collections and novels. His last novel- ‘Manushkhor’ was published in 2013.
He received several Hindi literary awards.
The 11th National Street Food Festival jointly organized by National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) & food regulator FSSAI begun in New Delhi. It will be held from December 25th- 29th. The theme of this year's festival is 'healthier diets’.
