India, China to hold seventh round of military level talks for de-escalation of tension along LAC

New perennial woody herb species spotted in Kerala

Researchers have reported a new species of perennial woody herb of the genus Lepidagathis from the northern laterite plateaus of Kasaragod. Rare plant is found near Ananthapura lake temple hence named as ‘Lepidagathis ananthapuramensis’.

Noted music composer Rajan (of the Rajan-Nagendra musical duo fame) passed away after a cardiac arrest in Bengaluru. He was 87. Rajan, along with his brother Nagendra, had created a niche for themselves for decades, and have given innumerable hits.

Former India football captain Carlton Chapman, who had formed a deadly trio in club football with Bhaichung Bhutia and IM Vijayan in the 1990s, died in Bengaluru. He was 49. A creative midfielder, Chapman played for India between 1995 and 2001.
