Karnataka's 31st district Vijayanagara, named after the Vijayanagara empire of Raja Krishna Devaraya, officially came into being. Carved out of mine rich Ballari district, Vijayanagara will have Hospet, Harapanahalli, Kudligi, Hoovina Hadagali, Hagaribommanahalli and Kotturu Taluks.
Hospet will be its administrative capital.
The portal has been developed under a Technical Cooperation project “Wetlands Management for Biodiversity and Climate Protection” (Wetlands Project) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

Indian conglomerate Adani Group has acquired a 10 per cent stake in government promoted CSC SPV's e-commerce subsidiary CSC Grameen eStore.
CSC SPV created the CSC Grameen e-store in which Tata Digital bought 5 per cent a year ago, HDFC bank 1.5 per cent and Adani Group being the latest investor.
CSC Grameen e-store currently serves over 10,000 PIN codes across all states.

B C Patnaik has taken charge as the managing director (MD) of the Life Insurance Corporation of India. He was appointed as Managing Director vide a government notification dated July 5, 2021.
