Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Madras High Court. In exercise of the powers conferred under Clause (1) of Article 217 of the Indian Constitution, the President of India in consultation with the Chief Justice of India has made the appointment.

India to help Sri Lanka launch its version of Aadhaar

India has agreed to provide a grant to Sri Lanka to implement a ‘Unitary Digital Identity framework’, apparently modelled on the Aadhaar card. The Rajapaksa government will “prioritise” the implementation of the Framework as a national level programme

The initiative follows bilateral talks between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa & Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2019.

Indian Railways achieves great milestone within five months as Mumbai Division operates 100th Textile Express

The Mumbai Central Division of the Western Railway zone has recently achieved a milestone of loading the 100th Textile train from Chalthan, located in the Surat area, to Sankrail of South Eastern Railways’ Kharagpur Division. On 01.09.2021, the first train was flagged off by the Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh from Udhna in Gujarat.

SBI, NCF, IGNCA Inks MoU For Development Of Atmanirbhar Bharat Centre For Design At Red Fort, Delhi

The State Bank of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indira Gandhi Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and National Culture Fund (NCF) of the Ministry of Culture, for Development of Atmanirbhar Bharat Centre for Design (ABCD) at Red Fort, in Delhi.

SBI has agreed to sponsor the project under CSR with a contribution of Rs. 10 crore for the implementation.

India in global gold buying spree; RBI 2nd largest buyer of yellow metal

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) emerged as the second largest buyer of yellow metal among the world's Central Banks in 2021. The largest buyer, the Central Bank of Thailand, bought 90 metric tonnes of gold while RBI bought 77.5 metric tonnes taking its total gold reserve to 754.1 tonnes at the end of December 2021. India’s official gold reserves is ninth largest in the world.

NRAI signs MoU with All India Sports Council of the Deaf

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All India Sports Council of the Deaf (AISCD) under which the former will conduct competitions at every level for shooters with hearing impairment.

The MoU will be in effect till 2029.

The National Rifle Association of India was founded in 1951.

J&K admin signs MoU with New Zealand company to transform sheep farming sector

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has signed an MoU with the New Zealand G2G, a public sector company for transforming the sheep farming sector in the Union Territory and also launched a rural home stay project in the UT in collaboration with the Oyo Rooms.

The livestock sector in J&K, contributes nearly 25.8 % of the total value of output in agriculture.

Ahmedabad IPL team to be called Gujarat Titans

The Hardik Pandya-led Ahmedabad team of the Indian Premier League will be known as the Gujarat Titans. The franchise, which is owned by private equity firm CVC Capital, said that the name was chosen to pay tribute to the state’s rich cricketing legacy.

The Ahmedabad-based IPL franchise will be led by Hardik Pandya.

India’s first biomass-based hydrogen plant coming up in Madhya Pradesh

The country’s first commercial-scale biomass-based hydrogen plant is coming up in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The plant will produce a tonne of hydrogen per day, from 30 tonnes of biomass feedstock. It will also produce biochar and methane. The plant is being put up by a joint venture of Watomo Energies Ltd and Biezel Green Energy with an investment of ₹24 cr.

India is ranked 46 on the global index with an overall score of 6.91.

It has the lowest score of 5 on political culture and the highest score of 8.67 on electoral process and pluralism.

It scores 6.18 on civil liberties, 7.22 on political participation, 7.50 on functioning of government.
