NITI Aayog launches experience studio to foster innovation and adoption of drones for public services

To promote a collaborative ecosystem aimed at fostering innovation and adoption of drones for public services, an experience studio on drones was launched by civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at NITI Aayog. NITI Aayog Vice Chairperson Suman Bery and CEO Amitabh Kant were also present in the inaugural event.

NITI Aayog Launches The National Data & Analytics Platform

NITI Aayog launched the National Data & Analytics Platform (NDAP) for open public use today. The platform aims to democratize access to public government data by making data accessible, interoperable, interactive, and available on a user-friendly platform.

NDAP can be accessed at http://ndap.niti.gov.in and all datasets on the platform can be downloaded and merged freely.

Power Ministry additional secy Vivek Kumar Dewangan appointed CMD of REC

The Government of India appointed Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Additional Secretary in the Union Power Ministry, as the chairman and managing director of power sector lender REC Ltd, formerly known as Rural Electrification Corporation.

REC Limited is a public infrastructure finance company in the power sector; it is a PSU that finances and promotes power projects across India.

RBI appoints Sitikantha Pattanaik, Rajiv Ranjan as executive directors

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Rajiv Ranjan as Executive Director (ED) with effect from May 1. Prior to the appointment, Dr. Ranjan was serving as Adviser-in-Charge of Monetary Policy Department and Secretary to the Monetary Policy Committee.

The RBI has also announced the appointment of Sitikantha Pattanaik as the new Executive Director.

Pilot project for Skilling tribal youth launched from Bhopal, MP

Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched Pilot Project for Skilling Tribal Youth - Rural Tribal Technical Training at the Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance CRISP, Bhopal. Scientists discover almost 35 million years old rare snake fossil from Ladakh

Scientists have reported spotting of the fossil of a Madtsoiidae snake from the molasse deposits of Ladakh Himalaya for the first time indicating their prevalence in the subcontinent for much longer time than previously thought.

Madtsoiidae is an extinct group of medium-sized to gigantic snakes, firstly appeared during the late Cretaceous.

RBI imposes Rs 59 lakh penalty on KEB Hana Bank

RBI said it has imposed a penalty of Rs 59 lakh on KEB Hana Bank for non-compliance with the certain norms related to 'interest rate on deposits'.

The Korean bank has been penalised for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on "Reserve Bank of India (Interest Rate on Deposits) Directions, 2016".
