MeitY holds brainstorming session on Digital India BHASHINI with Researchers, Start-ups

The Ministry of Electronics and IT conducted a brainstorming session with Researchers and Start-ups. The session was aimed to shape strategy for Digital India BHASHINI, which is India’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) led language translation platform. The government wants to integrate start-ups in innovation, development and consumption of technology.

ONGC becomes the first gas producer to trade on Indian Gas Exchange

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has become the first gas producer to trade domestic gas on the Indian Gas Exchange, trading unspecified volumes from its eastern offshore KG-DWN-98/2 block.

ONGC has become the first exploration and production (E&P) company in India to trade domestic gas on Indian Gas Exchange.

The United Arab Emirates has become the first Gulf state to record a case of monkeypox.

Outbreaks of the virus have been found in Europe, Australia and America.The symptoms often include a fever and rash - but the infection is usually mild.

Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis (a virus transmitted to humans from animals) with symptoms similar to those seen in the past in small pox

PBKS' Shikhar Dhawan becomes first player to hit 700 fours in IPL's history

Punjab Kings opening batter Shikhar Dhawan has become the first player to hit 700 fours in the history of the IPL.

Dhawan reached this feat during the last league stage match of IPL 2022, between PBKS and Sunrisers Hyderabad, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The batter has now a total of 701 IPL fours to his name.

RBI Allows Settlement Of Trade Transactions With Sri Lanka In Indian Rupees

In view of difficulties being faced by exporters in getting payments from crisis-hit Sri Lanka, the RBI allowed settlement of trade transactions in Indian rupee outside the Asian Clearing Union mechanism.

Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis since gaining independence from Britain in 1948.

SEBI Withdraws Permanent Recognition Granted To ICEX

Markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India has withdrawn the recognition granted to the Indian Commodity Exchange Ltd.

Consequent to the withdrawal, ICEX has been directed to transfer the money available in the Investor Protection Fund and Investor Services Fund of ICEX to SEBI's Investor Protection and Education Fund.

RBI Sets Stage For Card-Less Cash Withdrawals Across All ATMs

"All banks, ATM networks and WLAOs may provide the option of ICCW at their ATMs. NPCI has been advised to facilitate Unified Payments Interface (UPI) integration with all banks and ATM networks,"

Customers will be able to authorise transactions at ATMs through UPI, while the settlement of these transactions at the back-end will happen through the National Financial Switch.
