FIFS appoints Joy Bhattacharjya as the director general

The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), the self-regulatory industry body for fantasy sports, announced the appointment of Joy Bhattacharjya as its director-general.

Bhattacharjya is the CEO of the Prime Volleyball League and is a cricket analyst.

The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), was earlier known as the Indian Federation of Sports Gaming( IFSG).

IIT Madras Best Higher Educational Institution, IISc Bengaluru Top University: Education Ministry's NIRF India Rankings 2022

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has been ranked as the top educational institution in the country for the fourth consecutive year, according to the India Rankings released by the Union Ministry of Education.

Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has secured the second spot on the ranking, followed by IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi.

Agnikul Cosmos opens India’s first private rocket engine factory in Chennai

Agnikul Cosmos, the country’s 1st private factory dedicated to building rocket engines in Chennai, inaugurated by N Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Sons, & Somanath, chairman of ISRO & secretary, department of space.

Srinath Ravichandran, chief executive of Agnikul Cosmos, said that the facility presently has the capacity to build 2 rocket engines from scratch, every week.

Centre receives Rs 23,000 crore proposals under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)

The AIF set up in 2020 aims at providing a medium-long term debt financial facility till 2025-26 for investment in viable projects for post-harvest management infrastructure and community farming assets through interest subvention and financial support.

AIF with a corpus of Rs 1 lakh crore will be disbursed through loan by 2025-26, ministry officials had said earlier.

Y- 3023 Dunagiri, Project 17A frigate was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders Limited (GRSE) in Kolkata. P17A Frigates are follow-on class of the P17 (Shivalik Class) Frigates with improved stealth features, advanced weapons and sensors and platform management systems. Seven P17A Frigates are under various stages of construction at Mazagaon Dock Limited (MDL) and GRSE.

Bangladesh ranks highest in gender parity in South Asia: WEF Report

Bangladesh has retained its highest ranking in South Asia in terms of gender parity, according to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) latest Global Gender Gap Report 2022. It is for the eighth time in a row that Bangladesh has retained its top position in South Asia. However, its overall ranking has slipped 6 ranks from 65th in 2021 to 71 in 2022 among 146.

Tokyo to host 2025 World Athletics Championships

At the 228th World Athletics Council Meeting in Oregon, USA, the Council also announced that the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships will be held in Medulin and Pula in Croatia and the 2026 World Athletics Cross Country Championships will be held in Tallahassee, Florida.

Next year’s World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, Australia.

100% Saturation of Grey Water Management in Pappankuzhi Village, Tamil Nadu

I2U2: UAE to invest $2 bn to develop integrated food parks
