March 21, marks World Down Syndrome Day. The objective of this day is to spread awareness about Down Syndrome, a rare genetic condition, and to reduce the social stigma faced by patients.
The first World Down Syndrome Day was observed in 2006. Eventually, the United Nations General Assembly adopted March 21 as World Down Syndrome Day in 2012.
