Asian 20km Race Walking Championships: India’s Akshdeep Singh Bags Gold, Priyanka Goswami Settles For Bronze

India’s Akshdeep Singh clinched the gold medal while Priyanka Goswami bagged bronze in the men’s and women’s category respectively at the Asian 20km Race Walking Championships 2023 held in Nomi, Japan.

A total of nine Indian athletes – five men and four women – participated in the Asian 20km Race Walking Championship 2023.

Renault Nissan signs pact with Kamarajar Port for export of locally-manufactured cars

Franco Japanese auto alliance Renault Nissan has signed an agreement with Kamarajar Port Ltd (KPL) for export of cars manufactured in Chennai by Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd. The vehicles produced at the Chennai plant will be exported to the alliance's regional and global destinations.

RBI imposes Rs 2.27-cr penalty on RBL Bank for non-compliance with rules on recovery agents

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said the penalty has been imposed for non-compliance with certain provisions of the directions issued by it on 'Internal Ombudsman Scheme, 2018', 'Fair Practices Code for Lenders', 'Credit Card Operations of Banks', 'Managing Risks and Code of Conduct in Outsourcing of Financial Services by banks' and 'Recovery Agents engaged by Banks'.

Ministry of Steel Signs MoUs with 27 Companies under PLI Scheme

The Ministry of Steel has signed 57 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 27 companies for specialty steel production under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme.

The government has allocated Rs 6,322 crores to boost the steel sector and generate an investment of about Rs 30,000 crores.

India, Japan sign 2 documents on cooperation on Japanese language and bullet train

India and Japan agreed to sign two agreements on Monday, one to renew a memorandum of cooperation related to the Japanese language, and the other to exchange notes regarding a 300 billion loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project, commonly referred to as the "bullet train."

Meghalaya Gets Electric Train for the First Time After Electrification of 23 km track

In an endeavour for complete electrification, Northeast Frontier Railway has achieved another milestone by commissioning Dudhnai – Mendipathar (22.823 Track Kilometre) single line section and Abhayapuri – Pancharatna (34.59 Track Kilometre) double line section.

Mendipathar is the only railway station in the north-eastern state of Meghalaya which is in operation since 2014.

NTPC Green Energy, Indian Oil to form JV for setting up RE projects

NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) for setting up of renewable energy (RE) projects to meet round-the-clock power requirement of the state-run oil marketing company’s (OMCs) refineries.

NGEL is a subsidiary of the country’s largest power generator NTPC.

The theme for the 2023 International Day of Forests is "Forests and Health". The Collaborative Partnership on Forests selects the topic for each International Day of Forests.
