Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, also known as Non-Resident Indian Day, is celebrated on January 9 to mark the contribution and achievements of the overseas Indian community to the development of India. The day also commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest Pravasi, from South Africa to India in 1915, who led India's freedom struggle and changed the lives of Indians.

DGCA Implements New Rules Flight Duty Time Rules for Flight Crew

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has increased weekly rest periods from 36 hours to 48 hours for flight crew. As per the revised flight duty time rules issued by DGCA, night duty will now cover the period from midnight to 6 am in the morning as compared to five am earlier.

SBI Research report reveals significant decline in individual income inequality in the country in past 8 years

Individual income inequality has significantly declined during FY14-FY22 because of a “great migration” at the bottom of the pyramid, even as individual’s weighted mean income has risen from ₹3.1 lakh to ₹11.6 lakh during FY14-FY21, according to SBI’s economic research department (ERD).

Franz Beckenbauer football player passed away at 78 in Germany

LIC to acquire 10% stake in National Housing Board-promoted company

Life Insurance Corporation of India said its board has approved acquiring up to 10 per cent in a company promoted by the National Housing Bank. In a regulatory filing, LIC said the board has cleared the proposal to invest in a new company, promoted by the NHB, for residential mortgage-backed securities, through equity contribution up to 10 per cent of share capital.
