India test-fired indigenously developed nuclear-capable missile Prithvi-II as part of a user trial by the Army from a test range off the Odisha coast. The missile can carry 500 to 1000 kg of warheads and is powered by liquid propulsion twin engines.
The missile was developed by DRDO.
G-20 summit has started in Osaka, Japan. The theme of the summit is Human-centred future society. PM Modi held a trilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump and Japanese premier Shinzo Abe in Osaka ahead of the formal opening of the G-20 Summit.

Eminent freedom fighter Mohammed Baji died in Nabarangpur District of Odisha. He was 103. He had joined the Indian National Congress in 1936. He was the chairman of Utkal Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and a close associate of Utkal Sarvodaya Mandal.
Baji was active in the Sarvodaya movement.
