Nirmala Sitharaman launches facility for instant allotment of e-PAN based on Aadhaar

As announced in the Budget earlier, FM launched the facility for instant allotment of PAN card using Aadhaar-based e-KYC. The facility is now available for all applicants who possess a valid Aadhaar number and a mobile number registered in UIDAI database.

UP to sign MoU for employment of 9.5 lakh migrant workers

UP govt to sign MoUs Indian Industries Association and the National Real Estate Development Council to ensure employment. NAREDCO to employ 2.5 lakh people in realty sector, IIA to employ 500,000 migrant workers in MSMEs, and CII to employ 200,000 workers.

ADB, India sign $177 million loan to upgrade roads in Maharashtra

The Asian Development Bank and the Government of India signed a $177 million loan to upgrade 450 kilometres of state highways and major district roads in the state of Maharashtra. This could improve the connectivity between rural areas and urban centres.

NPCI launches AI virtual assistant PAi to create product awareness

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), as an initiative to improve digital financial inclusion, launched an artificial intelligence (AI) based chatbot, PAi, to create awareness around its products like FASTag, RuPay, UPI, AePS on a real-time basis.

Facebook launches CatchUp, an audio-only calling app

Facebook’s internal R&D group, NPE Team launched a new app called CatchUp that makes it easier for friends and family in the U.S. to coordinate phone calls or set up group calls with up to 8 people. CatchUp does not need a Fb account to use the service.

M P Veerendra Kumar, the Managing Director of Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi and a member of PTI’s Board of Directors, passed away. Veerendra Kumar, a Rajya Sabha MP from Kerala and a former union minister. He was the chairman of Press Trust of India thrice.
