It (https://afd.csdindia.gov.in/) aims to enable about 45 lakh Canteen Stores Department beneficiaries including Serving & Retired persons from Armed Forces and Serving Civilian Defence employees to purchase AFD-I items from the comfort of their homes.

RBI to conduct Variable Rate Reverse Repo auction on Jan 15 for notified amount of Rs 2 lakh crores

In order to restore normal liquidity management operations in a phased manner, RBI to conduct variable rate reverse repo auction of Rs 2 lakh crore on Jan 15. Repo rate is the rate of interest rate at which the central bank lends short term money to banks.

National Reconstruction Authority handed over a cheque for reconstruction of educational institutions in earthquake-affected districts of Nepal. With this, India reimbursed NRs 819.8 mn to Govt of Nepal towards educational sector reconstruction projects.

Japan Plans To Create Wooden Satellites to cut down on Space Junk

Japanese start-up Sumitomo Forestry teamed up with researchers from Kyoto University, to work on a wooden satellite. It aims at tackling the increasing threat of space debris. The teams plan to launch the world's first satellite made out of wood in 2023.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s niece Chitra Ghosh passes away

Chitra Ghosh, the youngest daughter of Sarat Chandra Bose and niece of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, passed away. Ghosh was a professor of Social and Political History, at the Netaji Institute for Asian Studies in Kolkata. She has also authored many books.
