Shipping And Aviation Ministries Sign MoU For Development Of Sea Plane Services In India

An MoU between the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MCA) for the development of Sea Plane services in India was signed.

This MoU envisages the development of the Non-Scheduled/Scheduled operation of seaplane services within the territorial jurisdiction of India under the RCS-UDAN scheme of the government of India.

Asian Development Bank to provide $484 Million Loan For Chennai-Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor

India signed a $484 million loan agreement with Asian Development Bank to improve transport connectivity & facilitate industrial development in the Chennai–Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) in Tamil Nadu.

The CKIC is part of India’s East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC), which stretches from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu. ADB is the lead partner of India in developing ECEC.

ICCR appointed as Personnel Certification Body of Yoga Certification Board

Indian Council for Cultural Relations has been appointed as the Personnel Certification Body of Yoga Certification Board.

Indian Embassies abroad will now be nodal points for certification of Yoga professionals.

ICCR would now certify and accredit Yoga Professionals, Yoga Institutes, and Centers in foreign countries.

MHA Operationalises National Helpline, Reporting Platform For Preventing Cyber Fraud

The Union Home Ministry has operationalized the national helpline 155260 and reporting platform for preventing financial loss due to cyber fraud.

The helpline provides a mechanism for persons cheated in cyber frauds to report such cases to prevent the loss of their hard-earned money.

It has been made operational by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

Gujarat to soon get National Maritime Heritage Complex to show maritime history, coastal traditions

In order to showcase the maritime heritage and history of India, a National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) will be developed in the Lothal region of Gujarat. Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways signed an MoU with the Ministry of Culture for the same.

It is to be an international tourist destination in India.

Three Centers of Excellence established in Karnataka under Indo-Israel Agriculture project

Three Centers of Excellence (COEs) namely COE Kolar for Mango, COE Bagalkote for Pomegranate and COE Dharwad for Vegetables established in Karnataka have been inaugurated under Indo-Israel Agricultural Project (IIAP).

These CoE generate knowledge, demonstrate best practices and train officers and farmers.

According to 'Annual Bank Statistics of 2020' Funds parked by Indian individuals and firms in Swiss banks jumped to 2.55 billion Swiss francs (over ₹ 20,700 crore) in 2020 on a sharp surge in holdings via securities and similar instruments.

India was placed at 51st place, ahead of countries like New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, etc.,

Google Pay announces cards tokenization with SBI, IndusInd Bank in collaboration with Visa

Google roped in more banks for card tokenization on the Google Pay app. Cards tokenization is a feature that lets users make debit or credit card payments through a secure digital token attached to their phone without having to physically share their credit or debit card details.

Google Pay had earlier rolled out the feature with Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI Cards & Axis Bank.

Shyam Sundar Jyani, a Rajasthan-based climate activist, has won the prestigious United Nations' Land for Life Award for his environment conservation concept, Familial Forestry.

The Land for Life Award is considered the world's highest reward regarding land conservation and restoration. This year's theme was "Healthy Land, Healthy Lives".

Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia's first president and one of the last of the generation of African leaders who fought colonialism passed away.

In the 1950s, Kaunda was a key figure in what was then Northern Rhodesia's independence movement from Britain.

He became president following independence in 1964.

Indian sprint legend Milkha Singh passes away

Indian sprint legend Milkha Singh passed away. Popularly known as "the Flying Sikh", Singh won four Asian gold medals and finished fourth in the 400m final at the 1960 Rome Olympics.

He won five golds in international athletic championships and was awarded the Helms World Trophy in 1959 for winning 77 of his 80 international races.
