J B Mohapatra appointed as chairman of CBDT

J B Mohapatra has been appointed the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

He has been holding the additional charge of CBDT chairman since May 31, after the extended tenure of incumbent P.C. Mody had ended.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes is a statutory authority functioning under the Central Board of Revenue Act, 1963.

India, Kazakhstan joint military exercise ‘KAZIND-21’ begins

The India-Kazakhstan joint military exercise KAZIND-21 commenced at Training Node Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan.

This is the 5th Edition of Annual bilateral joint exercise of both Armies.

The fourth edition of the exercise was held at Pithoragarh, India in September 2019.

The contingent comprises 120 troops from Kazakhstan and 90 soldiers of the Indian Army.

Indian Army to participate in Multilateral Exercise ZAPAD, 2021 in Russia

A 200 personnel contingent of the Indian Army will participate in Exercise ZAPAD,2021, a Multinational exercise being held at Nizhniy, Russia.

The Exercise ZAPAD is one of the theatre level exercises of the Russian Armed Forces and will focus primarily on operations against terrorists.

Over a dozen countries from Eurasian and South Asian Region will participate in the event

RBI Raises Incentives For Distribution Of Coins To ₹65 From ₹25 Per Bag

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) increased incentives for banks for the distribution of coins to the general public to ₹65 from ₹25 per bag, with effect from September 1, 2021.

The central bank, while reviewing incentives, announced that the banks will also be provided an additional incentive of ₹10 per bag for coin distribution in rural and semi-urban areas.

SEBI bars Kotak AMC from FMP launch for six months, fines Rs 50 lakh

Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company(AMC) has been barred from launching any new fixed maturity plan(FMP) scheme for the next six months, as per an order issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India(SEBI).
