Project Fulwari under Azadi Amrit Mahotsav to Strengthen Northern Coalfields’ Limited (NCL)fight against Malnutrition in kids

NCL has signed an MoU with the District Administration to start 75 “Fulwari Centers” in the Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. NCL is striving for poverty alleviation, good health, well-being and quality education for the people of its command area. 6th edition of SCO Exercise Peaceful Mission 2021 commences in Russia

India climbs two spots to rank 46th in Global Innovation Index (GII) 2021

India has climbed two spots and has been ranked 46th by the World Intellectual Property Organization in the Global Innovation Index 2021 rankings. India has been on a rising trajectory, over the past several years in the GII, from a rank of 81 in 2015 to 46 in 2021. Switzerland, Sweden, US & UK have retained their top four ranks in the index while China is ranked 12th.

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya releases FSSAI’s 3rd State Food Safety Index

FSSAI released 3rd State Food Safety Index to measure State performance across 5 parameters of food safety. Health minister felicitated 9 leading States & UTs based on 2020-21 ranking for their impressive performance. Gujarat stood 1st followed by Kerala & Tamil Nadu. Among smaller states, Goa was 1st followed by Meghalaya & Manipur.

Union Minister of Steel Reviews Status of Steel Cost Reduction in Production of PSUs

The Minister urged PSUs to focus on cost cutting measures like reduction in the coke rate, increase PCI injection etc. Parameters affecting the efficiency and productivity of the steel plants viz. BF Productivity, BF Coke Rate, BF PCI/CDI rate, Labour Productivity, Specific Energy Consumption, CO2 emission intensity, Water Consumption etc. were reviewed.

RBI to conduct open market purchase of Government Securities under G-SAP 2.0

Reserve Bank of India will conduct open market purchase of Government Securities under the G-Sec Acquisition Programme (G-SAP 2.0) for Rs15000 crore. RBI will also sale Government Securities under Open Market Operations (OMO) for Rs15000 crore. RBI has asked eligible participants to submit their bids/offers in electronic format on E-Kuber system.

Environment Minister calls upon developed countries to fulfil their promise under Paris Agreement to support developing nations

Environment Minister said COP-26 should focus on climate finance in scope, scale and speed, and transfer of green technologies at low cost. He also mentioned about the concrete climate actions that India has been taking including 450 GW of Renewable Energy by 2030. He called upon the developed countries to fulfil their promise of $100 billion per year goal made in 2009.
